More than 20,000 teens 'age out' of foster care each year, often as young as 18 years old. Beyond Expectations, with a number of community organizations, have collaborated on this very special event to help raise awareness of this important issue.
Charitable donations from the evening will benefit the 2010 BE Filmmaking Camp, an educational program that will use media to teach collaboration, planning, budgeting, entrepreneurship, and other vital skills needed by teens, including those preparing to age out of the system.
Teens will learn to write, produce and tell their own stories, for a change. An exclusive Film Festival will be held in the fall to showcase their work.
